Each year Ben Dixon, the NaXum CEO, compiles a list of the top trends the team has seen in the referral marketing space and shares the report with the Direct Selling Executives Forum.

Customer + Loyalty Rewards Programs

Compensation plans are no longer only for the members promoting as a direct seller. Startup direct selling companies and companies relaunching into the space are consistently deploying customer rewards programs as a regular part of the company’s culture.

Popular Rewards Programs We See Daily:

1) Allow Customers To Recieve A Subscription At No Cost:

Want to incentivize your retail customers to share your brands and offers with their friends? Roll out an incentive program where they will receive their subscription at no cost when they refer 3 (in some cases 2) friends who also purchase a subscription of the same value or higher.

2) Lottery Winners:

Do you love games and want to incentivize your retail customers to take small micro-actions that promote your brand and offers?

Invite them to participate in a lottery or drawing for a guaranteed reward for sharing your product experience story with a #hashtag on social media.

3) Loyalty Rewards:

Want your customers to stay subscribed forever? Make your offer sticky.

What if your ‘best price’ on your subscription was only achieved AFTER a member had subscribed for 3x months? What if there were an additional 1 off gifts/prizes added in with the customer’s order at 6 months subscribed, 12 months subscribed, and more?

Creating opportunities for your raving fans to participate in sharing your story is fun and profitable. By leveraging your existing customer’s relationships with their existing friends, you get the full benefit of the trust they’ve already built with their contacts when they share your brand.
